Office of New Economy Web site

The Office for the New Economy, headed by Dr. Bill Brundage, just rolled out a great looking Web site aimed at highlighting Kentucky as an exciting and smart place to do business. The site is still being populated with new content, but already they have a lot to check out. Including a regularly updated spotlight column featuring activities related to the "knowledge-based" economy in the Commonwealth, information on science and research in Kentucky and sections for entrepreneurs and investors.

The site was designed to allow content to be added and updated quickly without having to know HTML or be a Web programmer. Coming up with the content, look and feel was truly a team effort, according to Pat Trotter, who handles marketing and communications for the Office for the New Economy. "Collaboration brought the site together. The team included Linda Johnson from CITE, the Center for Information Technology Enterprise, Jim Graham from iTRN, the Information Technology Resource Network, the Governor's Office for Technology, the Web and public relation folks from the Cabinet for Economic Development and the Lexington design firm of Elevation Creative Studios. And because so much work was done in-house, we saved money on the cost of launching the site."
