Statewide Paging Services Contract Awarded

Attention Commonwealth of Kentucky employees: The Governor's Office for Technology (GOT) is pleased to announce that Satellink and Appalachian Wireless have been awarded the All State Agency contracts for Paging Services.

As required by the Governor's Office for Technology Enterprise Policy GOT-071 (Wireless Voice and Data Services), GOT is asking agencies to provide some basic information to "GOT Wireless Support" on
the Global Address List or e-mail GOT at wireless.support@mail.state.ky.us by close of business on Friday, January 10, 2003.

With the expiration of the Arch Paging Service contract, each Cabinet is being asked to help coordinate the change over in a short period of time by assigning a Wireless/Paging Coordinator. It is the responsibility of the Wireless/Paging Coordinator within each agency to maintain a master listing of all paging devices issued within his/her area of responsibility.

During the transition period and throughout the life of the contract, GOT will be communicating frequently with your agency's paging point of contact to ensure that all tasks are accomplished and notices of changes or meetings are distributed. Please do not hesitate to contact "GOT Wireless Support" on the Global Address List or wireless.support@mail.state.ky.us with any questions or recommendations.

The purpose of these contracts is to provide affordable and reliable paging services for all state and local government agencies.

Services to be provided include but are not limited to:

  • Statewide Coverage
  • Simplified Pricing Model
  • Formalized Account Management Process (Single Point of Contact)

The Governor's Office for Technology continues to formalize the Wireless Strategy for the Commonwealth, per the direction of Governor Patton.
