Lexington Citizen's Go Online to Watch Crime

Information gathered from Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Division of Police

On June 10, 2002, Lexington Mayor Pam Miller and Lexington Chief of Police Anthany Beatty announced the launch of the Citizen's Crime Watch crime mapping application available through the Lexington Division of Police Web site. The crime mapping application was created through a collaborative effort between the Urban County Government's Department of Geographic Information Services and the Lexington Division of Police.

Citizens will now be able to view maps of streets and neighborhoods in order to view calls for service that police have responded to. By utilizing calls for service, as opposed to crime reports, citizens will have access to a broader range of information on police responses that include noise disturbances, disorders, and narcotics information.
