(GPS) satellite devices on their tractors to help them with planting,
tillage, Here in Kentucky, a Western Kentucky company is making a name for themselves by using GIS technology to help farmers get the most from their land. AgConnections, whose offices are located in a refurbished barn just outside Murray, Kentucky, are now helping basic manufacturers, retail dealers, growers and food processors in 20 states. They assist their clients in developing and processing database information layers of yield monitors, aerial imagery, satellite imagery, soil type maps, fertility maps, electrical conductivity and survey grade elevation. The ability to convert these information layers into efficiencies, applications and production performance is the goal.
AgConnections'
vision is that Geographical Information System (GIS) technologies will
be a critical part of environmental and economic development in agricultural
