10 Years of Discovery - Kentucky GIS Conference Kicks Off August 18 7/1/2003 The Kentucky Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Conference returns to Louisville in 2003, the bicentennial year of Lewis and Clark’s expedition of discovery! This year’s conference, under the theme, “10 Years of Discovery”, will demonstrate integrated GIS decision making and planning systems at all levels of government. Presentation topics include: management issues, technical issues, and GIS applications. Currently there are 67 sessions scheduled during Tuesday and Wednesday. GIS workshops are scheduled on Monday and Thursday. Conference cost is $150, if registering by July 31. If registering after July 31, the cost is $175. Lunch is included on Wednesday. Vendor registration is $500 for an 8' x 10' booth and includes two free registrations to attend the sessions and lunch on Wednesday. During Monday and Thursday there are workshops; costs vary depending on the workshop. Online registration is available by clicking on the registration link. Exhibitors can also register online, although the exhibitor contract form must be completed and faxed to the Office of Geographic Information. On Tuesday night at 7:15, come join us for an evening of baseball and fun. Louisville Bats play the Norfolk Tides (100 tickets have been reserved--$7.00/ticket). Although you can reserve your tickets when registering online for the conference, to arrange payment for the tickets, contact the Office of Geographic Information. Room rates for GIS Conference attendees at the Hyatt are available at the special conference rate of $89 (Single, Double, Triple or Quad) and $179 (Executive One Bedroom Suite). The hotel tax rate in Louisville is 13.95%. Please remember to identify that you are with the GIS Conference when making reservations to secure the conference discount rates.
