Kentucky Online Payment Site Reels 'Em In

It's now official! The number one way to get a Kentucky Fishing and Hunting License is at the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Web site. Sales from their newly redesigned ecommerce site have increased from $116,000 for January

Fantastic Overhaul on the Online Checkout!
You guys really did a great job improving the ease of use. I chose to purchase the Sportsman License this year because of the additional Permits included.

"Unlike a lot of sites, I found this one to be very easy to use and very well laid out. Keep up the good work..."

Sincerely,
Ray

Some site improvements include:

  • A single credit card transaction can now include up to four people receiving a license or licenses. This helps speed the process of buying licenses for more than one person by having one credit card transaction.

  • Federal Migratory Bird Survey data is now collected 100 percent of the time during the online purchasing process for certain licenses. This allows for an increase in the licenses and permits offered for purchase online. These include resident sportsman license, senior/disabled license, waterfowl permit, and migratory bird permit.

  • The new Web site also helps reduce errors by not allowing a person to select licenses that have overlapping privileges. An example would be that a Resident Sportsman license cannot be selected with a Resident Fishing because the Resident Sportsman license includes fishing as a privilege.

  • When purchasing licenses/permits online, a Kentucky Afield magazine subscription can be added to an order with a single mouse click. This has increased online sales of the magazine by 139% from last year.

Along with the Web site, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife currently has over 1025 agents selling licenses and permits. The leading sales agent in 2002 was the Wal-Mart store in Henderson, Kentucky.
