Governor, Lt. Governor and First Lady Unveil New Websites
June
4, 2004
In a continuing effort to increase
usability, consistency and improve the look and feel of state
government Web sites, Governor Fletcher, Lt. Governor Steve Pence
and First Lady Glenna Fletcher unveiled new Web sites recently.
The sites are integrated with the state's Web site, www.kentucky.gov,
and take advantage of a similar look, a similar content management
system, the power of the Google search engine and improved information
delivery.

The Governor's site now includes
better ways to stay informed about the Governors activities.
The Initiatives and Accomplishments pages help track the Governors
policy goals and achievements as the Fletcher administration restores
hope for Kentuckians. The Governors Journal will provide
access to photos, news releases, news coverage and audio clips
from the Governors events. Other elements of the site are
reorganized and given a new, bolder look.
"The Web is a vital tool for communication
and a reflection of our commonwealths progress in the New
Economy. I want my site to reflect strongly on the achievements
of our state and provide yet another opportunity to showcase our
great commonwealth, said Governor Fletcher. This site
will be an effective and important source of information about
the activities of my Administration.
The new Web site is part of the Governors
continuing efforts to incorporate electronic media as part of
a comprehensive communications outreach with the citizens of Kentucky.
In April, Governor Fletcher was the first Kentucky Governor to
interact with Kentuckians in an online forum. A pilot project
is currently underway to bring live streaming video of the Governor's
press conferences to the state's Web site.
