Welcomes New Commissioner of Technology

On
May 21, Governor Fletcher announced the appointment of Mike Inman
as the new Commissioner of Technology and head of the Governor's
Office for Technology for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The
new position, under the Finance and Administration Cabinet, will
lead the direction for enterprise information technology initiatives,
policy and architecture for the state, and oversee day-to-day
operation of the state's IT infrastructure.
A Harrodsburg, Kentucky native, Inman
is a retired Army officer who most recently worked for the Federal
Division of Computer Associates International, Inc. in Virginia,
where he built information technology solutions for the Department
of Defense.
Technology is an essential tool for government
to communicate with its citizens and a critical component of our
goal to move Kentucky forward, stated Governor Fletcher.
I look forward to working with Mike and I am pleased he
has joined us in our mission.
Inman holds an associates degree from Troy
State University, a bachelors degree in government from
Western Kentucky University, a masters degree in information
systems management from the University of Southern California
and a masters of military arts and sciences from Command
and General Staff College.
Mikes military and private sector
experience provide a new perspective that will be a tremendous
asset as he provides leadership for state governments information
services, Finance and Administration Cabinet Secretary Robbie
Rudolph said.
The Governors Office for Technology was
formed in 1999. It provides stewardship, policy direction and
technical support to all executive branch agencies of state government
in the application of information technology and the delivery
of information services.
