Kentucky
Education Cabinet Launches New Web Site
September
7, 2004
The Kentucky Education Cabinet now has a new online presence.
The debut of the site was announced today by Education Cabinet
Secretary Virginia G. Fox. This
is a great communications tool for Kentuckians to find Education
Cabinet information and to contact us, said Secretary Fox.
Kentuckians will be able to find contact information, news,
photographs and information about the agencies in our cabinet.
The newly designed Web site includes a Thank your Kentucky
Teacher feature that allows users to send a message to a
teacher who has made a difference in their lives. Users can also
read comments others have left for their favorite teachers.
The
Web site also reflects the cabinets reorganization and includes
information on each of its 11 agencies. Those agencies include:
-
The Governors Scholars Program
- Commission
on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Department
for Workforce Investment
- Council
on Postsecondary Education
- Kentucky
Department of Education
- Martin
Luther King Jr. State Commission
- Education
Professional Standards Board
- Environmental
Education Council
- Department
for Libraries and Archives
- Kentucky
Educational Television
- The
Kentucky Center for School Safety
The
cabinets new site features the power of the Google search
engine that allows users to search all Kentucky government Web
sites for more information on education in the Commonwealth. The
site also features a similar look and navigation to the state's
official site www.kentucky.gov,
giving visitors a consistent and familiar online experience.
The
Education Cabinet coordinates learning programs from P-16, and
manages and supports training and employment functions in the
Department for Workforce Investment.
